On this podcast, we’re talking about Biz Kid$, one of our favorite financial education programs. This comes right in time for April, which is National Credit Union Youth Month.
Biz Kid$ is a financial literacy initiative launched nationally in 2008 that teaches kids about money and business. The initiative includes an award-winning TV series, free classroom curriculum, outreach activities, and much more. It is the first national public television series promoting financial education for elementary through high school students and was created by the same team that produced “Bill Nye the Science Guy”.
To learn more about Biz Kid$ and all the ways credit unions can leverage it, we talk to our own Danielle Brown, Development and Donor Relations Director at the Foundation.
“Over $15 million has been contributed by over 300 organizations in the credit union system to support the funding for Biz Kid$ and all its educational initiatives outside of the television show. That’s really because credit unions understand the value of financial education and the importance of investing in our communities. It’s also a great example of the power of collaboration.” – Danielle Brown
